SIG Awards 2024

Multi-orbit, space debris, digitization, the cloud – the satellite industry is in the midst of transformation that is bringing many challenges, but this dynamic, vibrant sector is home to great innovation that can meet these head on. We are inviting nominations for the 2024 SIG Awards, designed to celebrate the innovative technologies and solutions being delivered by our members to help the industry adapt.

The Categories are:

 

Innovation of the Year

Awarded to the company with the most innovative production or solution brought to market within the last 12 months.

2023 winner: Atheras Analytics

2022 winner: MicroAnt

Cooperation Award

Awarded to two or more companies for a project where cooperation was key to solving a challenge, such as interference, or bringing about innovation.

2023 winner: DIFI Consortium

2022 winner: Kacific Broadband Satellites Ltd and GuarantCo Ltd

Young Engineer of the Year – Sponsored by Intelsat

A young or budding engineer who has showed excellence in innovating to resolve issues faced in satellite communications.

2023 winner: Ashram, Engineering Program Manager, Micro-Ant

2022 winner: Joakim Espeland, CEO, QuadSAT 

Educational Project of the Year – Sponsored by ST Engineering iDirect

Awarded to a company, educational organisation, or individual that is working to further engagement between students and the satcoms industry.

2023 winner: Martin Coleman

2022 winner: Spacewell Cornwall
