Ian Sanders is Director/CFO of the Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) and is responsible for the financial and corporate activities of the group.

Since 2015 Ian has worked as an independent advisor to clients in the telecommunications, satellite and media sectors.  His wide international experience includes financial analysis & modelling, licence bids, telecoms sector regulation, economic analysis, business planning, valuation, equity finance raising, market entry strategy, post-merger integration and corporate restructuring.

In 2014 he retired from PwC Consulting where he was a Telecoms & Media Strategy Partner based in Hong Kong and was responsible for the firm’s East Asia Telecoms & Media Centre of Excellence. He was with PwC and its predecessor firms from 1988 to 2003 and from 2006 to 2014, during which time he was based in Hong Kong (twice), Beijing, Abu Dhabi, London and the Isle of Man and worked on consulting projects in over 20 countries worldwide. From 2003 to 2006 he was Strategy and Business Development Director at Manx Telecom in the Isle of Man which was then part of Telefónica’s O2 operating division.

He has degrees in economics from St John’s College, Cambridge University and Essex University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
