What are the biggest transformations impacting the satellite industry?

Washington

The Satcoms Innovation Group is the only industry association that brings together the technical people working in satcoms to discuss the real operational challenges being faced. This environment makes it possible to collaboratively solve issues as they occur and is helping to improve operational efficiency. There are a number of ways to get involved during the week of Satellite 2023 in DC, for members and non-members and we would love to see you there.

Monday 13th March 10-11am
Kratos Lounge, 150A
Satellite Show, Washington D.C.

Join the Satcoms Innovation Group and Kratos for brunch as we discuss the biggest transformations impacting the satellite industry. From multi-orbit environments to the transition to cloud and the challenges surrounding 5G, our expert Directors will delve into the evolving landscape and how we navigate it successfully.

This is free and open to everyone but please do register so we can plan numbers for catering.

Thursday 16th March
10:15 – 11:30am
Room 146C

Our Managing Director, Helen Weedon, will be moderating a panel at Satellite on Tools, Technologies, and the Will to Combat RF Interference. Radio frequency (RF) interference can create major issues for satellite network infrastructure on the ground, particularly now that the space environment is becoming more and more crowded. The lowering cost of space applications and systems as well as their increasing capabilities in the 5G era have led to strong rivalry for the total amount of spectrum that is now available. Is the satellite industry ready to combat interference with the same energy it uses to pursue growth? Join us for a discussion identifying the technologies and anti-jamming techniques that are currently at our disposal and which tools we’ll need to develop as space gets more crowded.

Thursday 16th March (from 1pm) – Friday 17th March
Intelsat, Washington D.C

The latest SIG workshop brings together technical operations people to troubleshoot the current challenges, discuss opportunities, exchange ideas, and identify tools, technologies, and process that can improve operational efficiency and reduce errors. These are lively and engaging discussions at a highly technical level, and the latest event will be no exception.

We will be tackling a number of topics, including:

  • Multi-orbit challenges and tools,
  • Virtualisation and digitalisation,
  • The re-tooling of operator teams to tackle current and future challenges,
  • Interference status and case studies,
  • 5G spectrum management,
  • The role of AI,
  • Optimising the ground segment.

Join us to make sure you are part of the discussion, and the solution!
