With barely time to unpack from Govsatcom, the satellite industry is gearing up for one of the biggest events on the calendar, SATELLITE 2025. As global challenges continue to shape the satcom, SIG remains committed to supporting the industry, fostering collaboration, and addressing critical technical issues impacting satcom.

At SATELLITE 2025, SIG will be at the heart of the conversation, bringing together satellite operators, manufacturers, and service providers to discuss the most pressing challenges facing the industry. From FPAs, RF interference, to virtualisation of the ground segment, SIG’s events provide key insights, networking, and a chance to discuss the latest opportunities, challenges and innovations within satcom.

To make the most of technical professionals from across satcom all being at the same location, SIG is holding a number of events at SATELLITE this year

At the last SATELLITE show, it was agreed that the industry needs a more structured approach to managing the rollout of FPAs. One year later, where do we stand now? SIG and GSOA are co-organising a roundtable session, hosted by Kratos, to provide an update on progress made over the past year and discuss the future steps necessary to ensure a sustainable and efficient ground environment. Given the far-reaching impact of this issue, we encourage all stakeholders from across the satellite ecosystem to participate, whether or not a SIG member.

The roundtable session is taking place on 10th March between 11am and 12noon in room 150a.

Find out who won SIG Awards 2025

Later that day, SIG is hosting a networking and awards reception which will provide a fantastic opportunity for satellite professionals to connect at the SATELLITE show kicks off. The winners of the 2025 SIG Awards will be announced, recognizing outstanding contributions across four categories: Innovation of the Year, Educational Project of the Year, Cooperation Award, and Young Engineer of the Year.

The networking & awards reception is on 10th March at 5.30pm at The Hampton Inn, 20001 and is open to both members and non-members.

Network with industry professionals

In collaboration with Work Microwave, SIG is holding a drinks reception on the show floor to provide satcom technical professionals with the opportunity to network with industry peers and discuss the latest innovations, challenges, and opportunities within the industry. Whether you’re a member or new to SIG, we invite you to join the event and be part of the conversation.

The drinks reception takes place on 12th March 12, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm, at Work Microwave’s booth (booth 1427).
