Ledbury, Herefordshire, 25th August 2020 – The Satcoms Innovation Group has announced a range of activity alongside the virtual ConnecTechAsia event, taking place from the 29th of September to 1st of October.
SIG will host two panel sessions as part of the main conference.
The first session will tackle the many technical questions regarding LEO and flat panel antennas, which takes place on Tuesday 29th of September, 14:30 – 16:30 SGT. Over-crowding of LEO and its impact on surrounding orbits will be assessed, before going on to question whether high-performance antennas will ever be small enough to be classed as flat panels.
The second panel session will discuss 5G and spectrum on the 1st of October, 14:30 – 16:30 SGT. Understanding 5G’s potential impact is important in pre-empting future challenges, both within spectrum and within the wider broadcast ecosystem, in order to innovate and deliver solutions for cohesive working.
SIG will also run its popular technology tours, but in a virtual environment. The tours, which normally take visitors around various members’ booths, will highlight latest developments and innovation for satellite communications.
SIG will be exhibiting as part of SatelliteAsia and showcasing its members on its booth throughout the event. Visitors can visit the booth to find out more about the group and its members, as well as to chat with SIG experts throughout the event.
Helen Weedon, Managing Director, Satcoms Innovation Group, commented: “Replicating a physical event is challenging; however, CTA has laid the foundations for us to be able to interact with visitors effectively and intuitively. This unique platform will grant us an opportunity to engage with visitors like never before”.
Mr Ivan Ferrari, Event Director, Tech, Media & Entertainment Events, Informa Markets, who spearheads ConnecTechAsia said: “The Satcoms Innovation Group is a great partner of ConnecTechAsia, having delivered engaging sessions on the satellite industry and hosted interesting themed tours for our visitors at past editions. We are pleased to be cooperating with SIG for our virtual event and look forward to creating more engaging content with them, for all attendees.”
