SUMMARY:March '23 SIG workshop
DESCRIPTION:Download the agenda\n \n \n \n \n \n With limited places available\, it is essential that you book early to avoid disappointment.  \nFor the next SIG workshop\, we will be heading to Intelsat in Washington D.C. \nThe SIG workshop will once again bring together people working at the operational level of satellite communications to discuss current and future technical challenges and ways to solve them collaboratively. Our events are unlike any other satcoms industry events as they are highly technical\, involve a high level of discussion and engagement\, and often lead to collaborative problem-solving\, either discussing a current case of interference or as a consequence of a challenge description. \nThe agenda covers a number of important topics and trends impacting the satcoms industry. Our roots are of course in satellite interference\, which continues to take centre stage. At this event we will discuss the current state of RF interference and present some technical case studies that show real-life joint efforts to tackle instances of interference. Other topcis will include: \n\n\nMulti-orbit\, virtualisation\, and the re-tooling of operator teams to tackle current and future challenges  \n\n\n5G Spectrum management \n\n\nUnderstanding the challenges surrounding Flat Panel Antennas  \n\n\nThe role of AI in satcoms \n\n\nWe are\, as ever also looking for great topic ideas so please get in touch (info@satig.co.uk) if you would like to send us a suggestion \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nMembership Type\nCost\nConditions\n\n\nDirector\n£0\nUnlimited passes\n\n\nFull\n£0\nUnlimited passes\n\n\nAssociate\n£0/£100*\n2 free passes\, additional passes at £100 per person\n\n\nAcademic\n£0/£250*\n2 free passes\, additional passes at £250 per person\n\n\nStartup\n£100*\n\n\n\nNon-Members\n£500*\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n *All prices excluding VAT \nIf you are interested in joining\, please sign up below. SUMMARY:SIG Cloud Tech Forum
DESCRIPTION:NSR’s Cloud Computing via Satellite report forecasts a $16B cumulative revenue opportunity for cloud-based services in the satellite/space industry through the coming decade. It is clear that satellite needs to increasingly look to the cloud to improve efficiency and ensure it can remain competitive. However\, with satellite operators going from Mhz sales (buy\, sell\, lease bandwidth for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint) to bits – ethernet – point-to-point connectivity\, how can we ensure a smooth transition? \nAt the same time\, satellite is challenged with the expectation of instant connectivity and the need to shift the way services are managed and delivered\, adopting a model much more akin to mobile service provision. \nIn this tech forum\, we will discuss the opportunity and challenges of moving to a more cloud-based environment. Following a short introduction by SIG Director\, Paul Isaac\, there will be an opportunity for open discussion under Chatham House Rules\, giving members the chance to ask questions\, suggest resolutions\, or simply discuss the topic in more depth. \nRegistration is free to all SIG members. Please sign up below. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Sign up to the event\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email Address\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Company\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Member\n \n Member\n \n \n Yes\n \n \n No\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 9 + 14 = \n \n \n Register
